Alumni spotlight: Jason Bertrand '99; David Caughran '98, '08

Jason Bertrand & David Caughran

Jason Bertrand '99 was an EIU student when he got his start in the music business, playing in a cover band with friends including David Caughran '98, '08. Jason and David are still making music together today, although they're abandoned covers in favor of their own original traditional country songs.

Check out Jason and The Haymakers' "mixture of train beats, guitars, drinking songs and battle scars" during their show at the Homecoming tailgate from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, on the practice fields just south of O'Brien Stadium.
